I feel like it's been a while. That's probably because we have been so ridiculously busy here in Bee world. Papa Bee has a non-stop schedule between his regular duties, preparing for the week-long elders' training school in less than two weeks, and another top-secret mission he's on which requires his attendance 3-4 nights a week. Mama and the babies are auxiliary pioneering this month and next. So the several weeks since my last post has felt much longer.
To cut to the chase, I'm excitedly reporting the beautiful ending to my emotionally unstable weekend. We had the privilege of hosting our Circuit Overseer at the end of his visit on Sunday. We had an old-fashioned barbecue in the back yard. Although the stage was set for a meltdown, all went refreshingly well. I have to give credit to my circle of girlfriends, who helped me as I ran in circles (not accomplishing much), trying frantically to ready my home for first-time guests...and to my husband, for not allowing me to slap 2 coats of white paint through the entire place in a last-minute attempt to camouflage my very lived-in home (and to avoid washing all the walls, baseboards, doors, etc). [so much for "cutting to the chase" huh. Ok, I'll try again] So after all the ruckus I caused, the guests arrived and made themselves comfortable out back, despite 90 degree weather. The trees and breeze kept them happy. In fact, the guest of honor was so cozy, he curled up in the hammock and took a nap before the 'party' started. Lol! Papa manned the grilled as always and did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the drinks were cold, the guests were happy and sociable, even the kids were well behaved. Everyone left at a reasonable time, and even helped clean up. It was beautifully perfect! I smiled the rest of the night as I scrubbed dishes til midnight. The end :)
